We all lead different lives. You must create your own meaning :D
But I reckon the very core and basic purpose of my life is “to be happy and useful”. Everyone wants to be happy, and being useful helps achieve that for myself and others!

I think that maybe the basic purpose is to experience the world, and of course we tend to favor pleasure to pain unless you find pleasure in pain..

@Seth, there is no evidence to suggest our purpose is to reproduce. Obviously it must happen for life to continue, but I wouldn’t call that a purpose. I’ll use this quote again because it sums up so many thoughts of mine.

Consider humans have golf-ball sized consciousness’ We can only look out to the world with a golf-ball size consciousness, can only understand things with a golf-ball sized consciousness. We are meant to expand this circle of ours, to understand more, to take in more, to be more conscious.

I believe the meaning of life is something simple, so simple it’s over analyzed. I look at the beginning of man-kind and see a pattern. Love.
Everyone is after love, either it be with another, turning hobbies into passions or helping others. The meaning of life is to find love. And if you don’t find love, or do what you love whats the point of life, right?

I agree with Kirk on this one- I think that the purpose of life is to simply enjoy what is fortunately given to us and that is just too simple for many people to understand so they overanalyze it. But I also do think that the biggest part about finding ‘truth’ is to find your own.
