I’ve seen on several discussions that people think that we’re just talking on this site, and no action is coming out of it. Quite frankly, we are doing quite a bit of talking (over 200 pages of different discussions), but I’m not sure what anyone else is doing out there in the real world, besides, of course, what I do myself.
So…my question for you today is:
What have you done today that makes this world a better place, or makes you a better person?
Today I woke up, meditated for 15 mins, didn’t have time for a cold shower so I left the apartment and listened to a Joe Rogan podcast (just started it but I def recommend it!) on the drive to work; designed a part for an airplane brake using AutoCAD; learned a crap load about Iran, Syria, Israel and current world events so I can get facts strait and become more politically knowledgeable and maybe one day politically active; listened to podcast on way back from work; attempted to talk to my upstairs neighbor who has sent noise complaints about my apartment but no one was home; hit up the gym and did leg presses and leg extensions; cooked up a quick and healthy dinner (turkey breast, brocolli, cauliflower, and seasonings); then watched a Beautiful Mind (great movie!). Pretty solid day, and I plan for another one tomorrow–high existence baby, nothing less!
(first post on the blog here, though I’ve been a lurker for a while)
I’d been in a rut for the past while and so to turn it around I’ve been trying to be as productive as possible.
Went to work, went to class, did some homework, worked out, and browsed this site. Not a bad day, although I’d prefer my average days to be more productive
I work at the front desk of a hotel. So I pretty much just checked people into there rooms all day. What I did to make the world a better place was that I donated to some heart association some kids walked in and asked for a donation and I was the only one that donated.
i will tell about yesterday. since i just woke up today and said goodbye to my son who left for school. im staying with him this week to cheer him up and give him some support before his major big exams. so being in the big city which im usually not…
i took my bichon to the dog parlor and got him fluffed up. he looks like a huge little white walking bear. and i bought some vintage white sunglasses and i strudded around in this ghetto area of Toulouse and tryed to make people smile or even laf. but no one would look at us. or they pretended not to. everyone walking home from work looked so fed up so glum.
it is strange for me who lives in the countryside and never sees people.
im happy to see what everyone is doing. our daily lives dont seem so exciting but i guess each moment makes a difference. just a smile can help the whole world at this point!
I donate money only to street musicians. Word. I usually even give them more than half that it’s in my pocket, so I could know exactly how much money I need. (Brilliant squanderer) and I usually have a bunch of inspiration from everywhere.
I think I’m gonna cheer ya’ll HIGH EXISTENCE minions. Live high.
Made another cube, started my next project (did the lathe work), went to my friends house, sat on the computer, updated my Instructable. Now its bedtime, and more school tomorrow!
This is my Instructable: http://www.instructables.com/id/Turners-Cube-Manual-Machine/
I’m trying to win a contest and get a 3D printer!
Woke up hung over with not enough sleep but decided not to let it bother me. Drank some coffee. Cold shower. Drove to work.
Finished “Hunger Games”, really good book. Almost made me cry at least 8 times but I was at work while reading it so I had to hold it back. That’s such a torturous feeling. The worst was when I read the Green Mile at work… Man that was rough. :)
Hunger Games is a rip off from Battle Royale (Batoro Royaru), so if you are interested in the original story (which is much better. But I can only compare the movies, since I have not read the book), I advice you to read Battle Royale (original is Japanese).
For me it was a day at University, dinner with friends, cinema with other friends and watching football now.
Went through the whole of HE 3.0 looking for bugs, celebrated the new launch, wrote 500 words on Schiller (philosophers) and freedom/necessity/beauty/duality/spirit/matter. Tomorrow will be Kierkegaard and Hegel (it’s a take home exam I have to hand in on monday). And just got back from 1.5h yoga class. Now making some more food and I am off to bed.
Good night HEthens, sweet lucid dreams!
Havnt done jank today, but last night I brainstormed 2012 notes and chords with my good music buddy. Played lots of wrong notes and then organized the chaos into something resembling melody and form. Jammed on two baby grand pianos with no inhibition. Gotta play those 2012 notes, follow me? HE helps me play 2012 notes.
