What would you include in a philosophical/spiritual weekend/learning course
I’m aiming at puttin together sort of a course/spirit healing weekend. what would you include. lessons, talks, seminars, activities, etc? what? as you can tell this is still only a very very loose concept at the moment. All I know is that it will probably culminate in an lead up of meditation etc, to a powerful ritual psychedelic experience.

What kind of weekend will it be? Friends, family, paying customers? Already experience with these type of things? I am a bit wary to use psychedelics since it is just a weekend and don’t know anything about the participants.
I would include lectures by Alan Wallace and Alan Watts. Yoga. Oxygen retention + ice bath. Shamanic flights of the soul. Walks. Discussion groups. Eye gazing meditation + other types of meditation.
@moekanz, I dont want to discourage you but letting people go through these experiences can be quite intense. Especially by letting them take drugs. They need experienced guidance. If you are not sure what activities to add in your program, I get the sense that you haven’t mastered any of them yourself. Yet, I feel this is very much a prereguisite.
If I were you I would go to peru and get shaman training. Then do some long meditation retreats. Get a yoga teacher certificate. And keep studying.
Then, if people naturally come to you for guidance, then it seems to me you are ready :)
Seminars/lessons are great, bringing some knowledgeable masters with different teachings to let them educate the audience.
Group practice is also awesome, even better than talks. Group meditation, some form of “energy” stuff, and maybe some discussion.
As for the topics. Focus on the practical, that’s what matters. This “energy” stuff, hands-on methods and practices to use. So they actually learn something, instead of just getting their minds stimulated with a bunch of pie-in-the-sky hocus pocus. Practical knowledge is the only true knowledge, if you’re not doing it you don’t know it.
yeah definitely experiments. i always used to hate that about church, you dont get to actually experiment on yourself and poke a spirit man in the side and see what he does. its like chemistry without the practicals.
group meditation is the fucking best. make sure you got loads of little gongs.
little sutten sutten about sex too.
Yeah, don’t forget the stuff about sex. Sex is one of the most efficient ways to strengthen your spirituality. That’s why they call it carnal magic.
I’ve seen some spiritual meetings turn very weird when the sex stuff was brought up though, so you might want to take it easy with that.
maybe some cool exercises to shock people with themselves. i always want to get to know myself better, because i dont think i really know all the opinions this animal holds. i dont really know what i actually believe in or dont for instance. (like a personality test but cooler and deeper. i love those things)
maybe do some reiki! i would love to have someone teach me some basic reiki hand placements (because sometimes the internet really doesnt cut it)
and talk about how it works. that would be really interesting.
i might try and do something a little controversial too. like a little talk on how one can use drugs in a positive healthy way or something. thats a loose concept as well, hope you can get the gist.
