I’m looking to explore different sounds and I imagine everyone on this site knows some pretty solid tunes ;)

So please post your favorite song or any awesome song you\’d love to share because I want to hear it all!

I think there’s a thread like this…

Though, my favorite band right now is Edward Sharpe and the Magenetic Zeros. Their music is so positive and unique. I’m actually listening their song “Home” right now:

It’s a great video, too.

You should’ve started this off with your favs!

I’ve got a pretty lengthy obsession with music and an absurdly large music library that’s always expanding, so I’ve got plenty of content to share. But to start, the most beautiful and meaningful song I’ve ever heard is Old Yes by Black Moth Super Rainbow. YMMV but I have some very deep emotional connections to this particular set of soundwaves :P

@kidd,

Oooooo good choice!

What do you think of Madder Red by Yeasayer?

Take your favourite bands and artists, and find out who their favourites were. Then just keep going. Always found that the best way to do it :)

Everyone’s a damn musician these days. I’d say a better topic would be Good music. I’m about to go on a rant, because I have a single roommate who is convinced he will be a rockstar someday. He’s pretty cool and normal when he’s not playing music, but he just goes all out thinking he’s some god of stimulus when he’s in front of an instrument. He attracts other noise-makers to him and literally every weekend my house is like a Dr. Seuss book with strange honks and horns squeaking out of ridiculous rhythms.

I appreciate their art and performances when it’s constructed, but that’s like 5% of the noise they make. It’s so distracting 95% of the time that it throws off everyone else’s consciousness in the house. I’m sick of the agitation though, so I just blow house music and Major Lazer through my speakers all day to drown them out. And in moments like this, the power sound has to isolate me from the rest of the chaos is TOO VALUABLE.

The vibes and energy I get from Major Lazer on max is like high-octane fuel. This is my fav. mix http://www.maddecent.com/blog/new-podcast-major-lazer-summer-mix/

@growlove, Oh, wow–I love that one!

The video was a little strange, though.

@kidd,

My internet sucks too much to watch the video. Knowing Yeasayer, I believe it though. :P

@saracwatts,

You still haven’t shared your favorite!

@versai, Fuck yeah to Major Lazer! As someone who’s aiming to make a living through music, I can get pretty annoyed by starving artists. I think it’s cos I’ve been told I’m talented, when I know it’s not really about that, and I’ve just put in the damn effort. You can’t just sit around with a Strat knockoff hoping to be the next Kurt, you have to figure out how the fuck it’s gonna work. It’s not easy, and getting adequate at guitar just won’t cut it anymore.

Noah’s Ark by Cocorosie has been a favorite of mine this week. My favorite song is constantly changing, but I really do love this song.
