Why don't we model extreme transportation off insects?
For the past few months I’ve been paying a lot of attention to the insect and bug world. It is incredibly fascinating that such small creatures are able of such fantastic feats. They’re small, yes…but they are honestly really badass. So as I’m watching these little alien looking beasts today where I planted a few flowers, I couldn’t help but admire their abilities. Then I started to think how cool it would be to move around like them! The mechanics are there and we can do this given our technological capabilities.
Just imagine having like a personal pod flier built off the same idea of the anatomy of say a fly. Or something that made you leap like a grasshopper and whenever you wanted to take flight. I just think that would be so cool. I imagine biologists, anthropologists and such using these to zip around the jungle or archeological sites.
This idea is merely just me and my imagination coming together to create a more fun idea of transportation. It may not be realistic but it is for sure more fun than say a four wheeler.
I would imagine the military would use this too. Which just reminds me of something out of G.I. Joe…..but they would for sure do some crazy things. Maybe say like a tank based off a rolly-polly bug (I have literally no idea the real name for those things). Bad to the bone.
That’s all I have to say really. Just a little bit of my imagination being spilled onto your screens. I’m just fascinated, I suppose. *shrug*

I’m all on board for insect transportation!… though, my support drops a bit when the military is mentioned.
But, looking past that, this would be fascinating if we could get a group of people with technical knowledge of insect biology/vehicles to conjure up practical ideas!
…or, we could cheat and wait until genetic modification becomes advanced enough for us to create giant insects with the intelligence of humans to fly us around.
