i’ve used the pill – sucks – and the DP shot – side effects. so, i just became familiar with my bodies cycle and i go all natural. and if i get pregnant, then i make responsible choices and see that it’s meant to be. |

From a dude’s perspective the shot is awesome. Unlike the pill you can’t forget to take it. Just take your girl to get it every 3 months. |

Why bring a child into the world if you don’t know FOR SURE that it’s going to have a loving home. One must also consider health care bills which tend to be around $10,000. Women put their life at risk every time they give birth. Some women aren’t willing to risk their lives giving birth just to give it up for adoption. EDIT: One must take precum into consideration when speaking in reference to pulling out. |

I have been on the pill, tried the Mirena (IUD coil thing), condoms and currently we are not using anything. The pill caused extreme mood swings but not as bad as the mood swings, depression, loss of instinct and compassion to care for my children as the Mirena. Personally, kids arent that bad or scary as they’re made out. I would rather have kids than become an emotion monster. |

I’m still shocked that it’s so common in many parts of the world, especially the US I suppose, for girls and women to take the pill. In Greece it’s pretty much unheard of. I can’t believe you can do that to your bodies like that! Condoms is the only kind of birth control I know of but I don’t like them, they hurt. Still, I use them because there’s little choice and neither I nor the handful of girls I’ve had a sexual encounter with would like to take such a risk. |

I’ve never met a woman who used female condoms. Check that one off the list. @Dimitris You live in the first world and you only have condoms there? |

Obviously pulling out only works if the guy actually pulls out – and he knows his body well enough to do that. |

@Chris It’s not that we have nothing else. Girls sometimes take the “next day” pill but most women round these parts just don’t trust anything that fucks up their hormones. Everybody sort of agrees that condoms are the only legit way. |

So what it comes down to is relative experience, but whos to say the fathers life isnt more effected by the birth? If we go fully pro-choice, then the male has the choice to choose whether he wants to pay child support or not. Its all fair then, right? at least my relative reality says so |

@Alex I agree with you, I think fathers should have an “opt out” option of financial responsibility as long as mothers have the choice to abort or not. |
|
| Skye
People should do it. We arn’t animals. We will have sex for recreation. We don’t need anymore babies, and we really don’t need more controversy over abortion. |

At no point is the fathers life put on the line. Your going to look for fairness in evolution but there isn’t. Sorry. I can agree that it sucks as a father for the mother to have the only say, I can also agree that as a mother it sucks for the father to abandon them. However looking at the situation objectively, I cannot agree with someone being forced to go through with something that may put their life at risk. P.S. How would the fathers life be MORE affected than the mothers? |

http://www.pamf.org/teen/sex/birthcontrol/diaphragm.html check this out girls if you want a meathod which is non hormonal. you cant feel it when it is in, and it works. i used it for years and only had kids when i was 33, and believe me i gave this gadget its moneys worth. i think the pharmacudical companys dont stress this simple non costly device, so they can sell the stupid dangerous pill, and ruin everyones health and thus sell more types of meds with tons of side effects, and then sell more pills to treat all the side effects of the side effects… makes so much sense! its good business.. |

@stonedragon How do you know the spermicide isn’t dangerous? Generally, all kinds of [blank]icide are poison to everything living, not just the organism it’s specialized to kill. And considering it’s all mucous membrane in there, that shit goes straight to the bloodstream. I have no idea how safe or unsafe this substance is, but I seriously doubt that it’s harmless. Still probably the best method though, since it’s non hormonal and doesn’t interfere with the shagging. |

The diaphragm is the safest and easiest for women and it works if you use it. |

@stonedragon21 and @epath – did you ever try something like the Today sponge? It looks pretty similar to diaphragm in use, and I was curious if others tried it and eventually ended up with diaphragm use after trying out similar options. |

The trouble with sex is that reproduction is the main function but most people use it just for enjoyment. Which is totally cool. But seriously, as I’ve said before people need to chill out with having all these kids…..we’ve hit 7 billion people and having our whole lives consumed by endless resource wars would really gobble major balls. It’s too bad people can’t be so in control of themselves like the characters in the book Stranger in a Strange Land, where women could completely decide whether or not pregnancy would take effect. It’s not really my place to say what with not being a girl and all but the pill or any other chemicals just seem like a bad idea, being from Big Pharma who as we all know doesn’t give a damn about the people using their product. Sticking with condoms is probably the best bet….AS LONG AS PEOPLE REMEMBER TO THROW THEM THE FUCK AWAY. Nothing grosses me out like seeing used condoms on the sidewalk, nobody wants to see that. If you’re old enough to have sex, you’re old enough to know what a garbage can is…aaargghh!…/end rant |

Oh man. Where do I start lol. Honestly, the only reason I’m on it is because I have to be smart–I don’t wanna get pregnant. I’m currently in medical school and that would just put a damper on things. BUT. I really hate it. I mean from spotting to appetite changes (I’m either starving all the time and can eat so much til my stomach pops, or I have no appetite and food grosses me out), from mood changes (although I haven’t experienced that yet) to weird bloating… ahh. HOWEVER. It makes your boobs grow. So that’s fun. |

The best form of birth control by far is a blow job. |

I think birth control is right. We’re probably are or are on the brink of overpopulation, so letting everyone run around having babies will just increase it more. |

Sex only has one purpose Manimal? Biologically, yes, but we are more than just animals. It helps us to bond; it feels good. Men do have a say. They can use condoms or encourage the woman to use birth control. If men have done everything they can to prevent pregnancy, then, yes, they have a voice. |

I think it could be cool if we just let the elderly raise all the children. They’re the ones we marginalize anyway, and they’re the ones who are actually wise enough to possibly know what it is children need to hear (unlike the average parents today from what I can see when I observe children). I say either have kids or dont, as long as you can support them or know someone who can. I have myself questioned the morality of bringing a child into this world at this time though… |
