So another year has passed, and another begins. The New Year’s celebration marks one out of hundreds of cycles we perceive: the Eqyptian Sun God Ra was often thought to die at the end of a day and be reborn at morning, in Hinduism there is belief that the universe goes through cycles that each last countless eons, and my personal favorite is the symbol of the Ouroboros(and Jormungandr, the Midgard Serpent), the snake eating its own tail and today makes me feel like we’re at that special point where the head meets the tail. What is your favorite symbol, metaphor, image or anything that represent the idea of cycle? |

@chronomortae, The plain old circle has gotta be my favorite. So simple yet says so much! |

@chronomortae, I think the normal day is my favorite representation of a cycle. Same amount of time, with often the same beginning and end (sleep). The days go on and on and on and on. Completely repetitive yet all we have to work with. @tangledupinplaid21 The circle is a wonderfully simple example of a cycle! (I’m not sure why I’m so enthusiastic but I love that example.) |
