This rare phenomenon from Lake Bakail in Russia is called Baikal Zen. Harsh winds carve out this depression creating a pedestal for the rock to stand on.

🎯 Reclaim Your Attention

There is endless drama and spectacle available to consume us all. Seductive algorithms generate daily tidal waves of distraction that drown us in trivialities and falsehoods. The internet can be a powerful tool for accessing knowledge but it can just as easily serve as a black hole for your attention.

We have to remember what really matters. The dizzying buzz of social media and 24-hour news cycle can keep us constantly preoccupied while the real lights in our lives burn out. Turn to the hearth of your world: the intimate surroundings and the warmth of the people you cherish as they are the real engines of significance in your life.

Break the spell of the screen and make eye contact with quality time, laughter, and precious memories. Our time here is short. Tomorrow is not promised so say “I love you” with enthusiasm. Allow yourself to spark a conversation, to ask an intriguing question, and to lean in for the answer.

The drama never ends so make space by the fire for that which truly nourishes you. Reclaim your attention and use it to water seeds of meaning. You will be better for it and the world will be made better because of it.

🍄 Psychedelic Renaissance

The day after Oregon legalized medicinal mushrooms, Johns Hopkins Medicine released a study on psilocybin’s impact on depression:

“The magnitude of the effect we saw was about four times larger than what clinical trials have shown for traditional antidepressants on the market,” says Alan Davis, Ph.D.

You can read more about the study here.

Are you interested in being involved in the Psychedelic Renaissance? A new 3-day conference called The Fundamentals of Psychedelics starts on Friday. If you want to participate in the paradigm shift happening in mental health, click here.

🧠 Play This Game: The Mind

The Mind is unlike any game I’ve ever played before. It’s not a competitive game where you beat the other players. Instead, you win or lose together as one. The game rewards you for having a fine-tuned intuition and an ability to “sync up” with the other players.

So how does it work? You play with a special deck of cards numbered 1-100. Each player gets a small amount of cards depending on the level you’re on in the game.

The aim is to put down cards in ascending order (starting at 1 and ending at 100). You do not communicate with words or even body language while you play.

The point is to meld minds and find the rhythm where you put down the cards with accuracy. There is more nuance to the game but it’s best explained while actually playing.

It’s a wild experiment in intuition and affords you an opportunity to connect with friends and family in a completely different way. If this intrigues you, Grab The Mind Here.

🤓 Learn This Word

Overstand, v. A play on words from the Rastafari movement. Their philosophy asserts that everyone is equal, therefore the individual who receives knowledge is equal to the communicator of the knowledge and superior to the information being expressed. With that said, one should not “understand” or stand under an idea; when they absorb an idea they “Overstand” it.
